New Richmond, Jan. 2 --- Mrs. Rosetta Long, widow of the late John Long, and for 40 years a resident of New Richmond and vicinity, died Sunday afternoon at the home of her son, Arthur Long, in Champaign, Ill. The body was brought to New Richmond Monday afternoon and the funeral services will be held Wednesday, Mrs. Long was 70 years of age, having moved here with her husband in their early married life. Mrs. Long was a member of and an active worker in the Christian church here for years. She lived a good and useful life, being unassuming and sweet-mannered and her life was an inspiration to all with whom she came in contact. She is survived by seven children, Mrs. Bert Long of Mellott, Geo. and Will Long of New Richmond, Ben and Arthur Long of Illinois and John Long of Frankfort. [Note: She was born 17 Nov 1840 and died 1 Jan 1911 and is buried in the New Richmond Cemetery.]
